Its roots trace back to 1911, when the 33-year old forester W.G. Thomé (born in 1880) decided to open a forestry office in Helsinki. The business carried his name - W.G. Thomé’s Forestry Office.

During a period of more than 100 years, the business has made it through many recessions and recoveries in the timber trade, shipping, trading activities and asset management.

In 2017 the family business carried the name Thominvest and it was owned by several relatives representing two different branches of the Jouhki family. The branches decided to split the company up, and so Thomfinance started it’s own venture.

Today, Thomfinance continues as an independent investment company primarily focusing on globally listed equities without refusing other asset classes. We are looking for asset managers with excellent reputations and track records. Our investment appetite can be described as conservative, value driven and long-term.
